Starting at the plaza, and heading up towards the hills, is Lithia Park. Designed by, John McLaren, the same man who created Golden Gate Park, it's a wonderful paradise in which you can just hang out for the afternoon.
Local Photographer, Donald Mark Has put hundreds of photographs of Lithia Park on his web page. This is all fine and dandy, but even a die hard Ashlander like me can find it a bit overwhelming, especially since most of them are just pictures of trees.
So, from Don's page, I've selected my favorites and linked them from here so you can get a slightly abbreviated tour with more emphasis on things other than trees. His primary interest is the foliage, but you can catch a gimplse of the mountains or the fountain in some. If you really want to see the whole thing, I definitely encourange you, especially since he keeps adding more.
These pictures are stored on Don's page, so if any don't work, please let me know.
Much damage was done to the park during the recent flood. To see pictures of the flood damage in the parks please see the Hat Sharpening Shop's Flood Page.
