Jeeves & Wooster Reading
Back at the old school when I was first dipping into P.G. Wodehouse's vast pot of literature I started with the Jeeves stories. However, the whole time I kept thinking "Someone should sit down and get these in order" because in sampling stories at random I was getting bally confused as to whether Bertie was chummy with Sir Roderick Glossop yet, or if Spode was still a threat...
However, when I sat down myself to try and do this I understood why no one has taken the trouble to explain everything.
It turns out that the stories have been changed around somewhat and altered to fit their context depending on the place of publication.
Here, with the entire amateur Wodehousian community in mind (not just those who watch the Television versions), is my attempt to explain it all in answer to the question "What should I read?"
(I could make each book title a link to some online bookstore, but I instead recommend that you take a little stroll down to your locally owned place.)
In general, most of the short stories come before the novels, chronologically speaking. However, exceptions run rampant.
Short Stories The short stories and collections of such. Novels The full-length Jeeves & Wooster novels. Omnibus An attempt to collect it all! Complete List An comprehensive list of the literature.
